CPI stands for Crisis Prevention Institute. They provide training, materials and certifications to aid mental health professionals in the mental health field to care for and manage their patients more effectively.
CPI was established in 1980 for human service professionals to address the need for training in safe, respectful, noninvasive methods for managing disruptive and assaultive behavior in a way that is compatible with staff’s duty to provide the best possible care.
There are many professionals who have acquired CPI Certification over the years. One of the main certifications that the Crisis Prevention Institute provides is the NonViolent Crisis Prevention® certification.
